Two common mistakes while using Autoclipping.com
Mistake #1, highlighting the border of the object
While doing some UX testing, we found that many people tend to highlight the edges of the objects they are trying to extract from the background. This is not the correct way to use our tool. Autoclipping.com expects you to mark the background and foreground with a few strokes.
The wrong way to use the foreground and background brushes:
Hightligting the border between the background and foreground usually gives a bad result and does not give our algorithm correct information about how to remove the background nor does it help our algorithm to distinguish the object to be extracted from the image.
The right way to use the foreground and background brushes:
This is the right way to mark the background and foreground in the image. Notice that we only make a few brush strokes to tell the algorithm where the background and foreground are. Our algorithm extracts the object automatically based on these hints.
Mistake #2, downloading a JPEG version of the result when you want to use the result in a composition
The JPEG file format does not encode for transparency information. When you download the result as a JPEG file, the removed background is replaced with a solid color. That color is white when you have not specified any other background color.
If you want to use the result in a design or a webpage, where it is set against a new background, you should download the result as a PNG image.
